Home Remedies for Heartburn

Are you looking for home remedies for heartburn? There are many heartburn natural remedies that you can add to your pantry for use when symptoms of heartburn flare up.

One of the popular home remedies for heartburn is fennel. You may have fennel seeds in your spice rack. You can make a tea by seeping one or two teaspoons of seeds in boiling water. There are also heartburn natural remedies available from companies that sell other herbs and natural products. Many of these include fennel oil.

Another one of the home remedies for heartburn is peppermint. Other mints may be useful as well. Peppermint oil is an ingredient in several over the counter heartburn products. Peppermint and other mint oils are included in some heartburn natural remedies. You can grow peppermint in your herb garden. For heartburn relief, you can chew on the washed leaves and stems or add them to your fennel tea. It will not only provide additional relief, but improve the flavor of the tea. Many herbal teas are home remedies for heartburn, but caffeinated teas should be avoided. Caffeinated beverages may worsen the symptoms.

Ginger or gingerroot is an ingredient in many heartburn natural remedies. Gingerroot is available at many grocery stores and is used in cooking, especially in Thai or Asian foods. Rhubarb is one of the home remedies for heartburn. It is not commonly found in products available for purchase as heartburn relief, but chewing on a chilled chunk may provide quick relief. Not only is the rhubarb soothing, but the chewing action increases the flow of saliva and saliva naturally neutralizes the stomach acid that causes the heartburn symptoms.

It is important to note that frequent heartburn experienced once or more per week could be a symptom of a more serious medical condition. It may be wise to have your symptoms evaluated by a physician. The above mentioned home remedies for heartburn are common food items and have no known side effects, but some products sold as heartburn natural remedies may not be safe for use by all individuals. It is important to read the list of ingredients and learn as much about them as possible, before purchasing one of the heartburn natural remedies. Particularly if a listed ingredient is not something with which you are familiar. Many herbs and botanicals, though natural have unwanted side effects. For instance, slippery elm is an ingredient in some heartburn natural remedies, but should not be used by pregnant or nursing women. Allergic reactions are also possible whenever you try a new product or food item. Use with caution and seek immediate medical attention if you experience any unusual side effect when using home remedies for heartburn or heartburn natural remedies that you have purchased.

Earn a Fortune in Food - Make $8,000 a Month Growing and Selling Your Own Spices and Herbs For Fun

One of the easiest ways to make a dull food taste great is to add a topping: a spice or a herb. A little dill here, a lot of basil there. Cilantro, cumin and very healthy spices like turmeric have been around for ages helping to improve the taste of foods around the world. Spices are so popular, ground black pepper is found on almost every table in restaurants throughout the United States.

Are you looking for a way to spice up your bank account? How would you like a business selling herbs and spices? To do this, you will need to learn how to grow things that can be sold and eaten. A business in consumables is usually a good market. Moreover, you do not have to travel by ship to bring spices to your clients.

With hard work and diligence, you can earn a crown jewel of a business. Your first investment will be into a location where you can properly grow your spices or herbs. You can start small, but keep in mind that this is the heart of your business. A small greenhouse is a great start. If you live in the south, you can get bay leaves free from bay trees that are abundant in the area.

Your goal is to sell seeds, plants, plant parts and fresh, preserved, and dried herbs. With the high cost of spices and herbs in the market - you have an opportunity to create a premium product, target some unique markets and capitalize on the sale of herbs and spices.

Maybe you want to create the party spice kit and sell spices that are perfect for topping off snacks like popcorn, potato chips, nuts, or even dips, dressings and sandwich spreads. Regardless of your market, there is a fortune to be made in food improvement.

Maybe you want to focus on a set of herbs and spices that are HOT and sell a mixed variety set for $99. Sell 10 of these sets a week and you are making $1,000 a week and $4,000 a month - not a bad start. How about IMPROVING this unique spice set by designing unique spice rack and sell them with your spices and herbs as a set for $200 each. Sell 10 sets a week and you are making $2,000 a week, which means you make $8,000 a month. Add a book or some other additional benefits and you are on your way to earn a fortune in food.

Frugal & Fun Country Decorating

Country decorating can be fun, creative and frugal because the items that work in country decor are either handmade like quilts, rugs, wood items, and folk art, or natural items like dried flowers, branches and flowers. Many of these type of items you can make or find at little or no cost.

Quilts, for example, can be handmade by you with fabric scraps or worn out clothing. If you don't know how to make quilts, you could check out a book from the library and learn how. You may even be able to find one at a yard sale or thrift store, if you're lucky. If you can't find or make quilts, check thrift stores for beautiful crocheted afghans; I have seen many and these would be equally as beautiful in your country decor. Just be sure to find colors that match your scheme. You can drape quilts or afghans over your sofa, or hang on a quilt rack. I have even seen them hung on a wall, like art.

Throw rugs are a wonderful way to vary your decor. If you want a change, just switch rugs or add one in a new area. Rugs can be braided or crocheted with scraps of worn out clothing or fabric. If you don't know either method, there are books out on the subject and you could also do a search on the Internet for instructions. I have found many throw rugs at thrift stores and yard sales. Whenever the price is right and I like the look of a rug, I'll buy it so I can make a fresh look when needed.

Wood items are abundant at thrift stores and are very reasonable. There is a huge variety too; I have seen wood fish, shelves, mini rocking chairs, coasters, placques, bowls, boxes, figurines, letter holders, spice racks, planters and a lot more. Sometimes I'll find a scratched wood item that I like and I'll still buy it because I'll take it home & fix it up with paint. These can be decoratively painted, or just touched up. You can also learn how to make your own wood items by taking a class or studying a book.

Usually folk art is very simple, so it is possible to make your own! Look around at other folk art to get ideas for your own original design, then go to the craft store & get artist paper (like 140 lb. watercolor paper), lightly sketch your design, then paint. If you really believe that you aren't able to do this, then again, check thrift stores! I see charming prints and original art for very reasonable prices. Another inexpensive option would be to frame calendar pages. Look for pretty frames at the Dollar Store.

The nice thing about natural items is that they are free. Hopefully you have your own yard where you can gather pine cones, branches, flowers, and leaves. If not, maybe you have a relative or neighbor that will let you takes some naturals from their yard. Branches and fresh flowers can be placed in pretty vases (check thrift stores!) or canning jars, pine cones look beautiful in big wooden bowls, as do leaves. The possiblilities are endless; just use your imagination for containers and combinations.

You don't need a lot of money to create a charming home! Have some fun and start hunting for or creating the things that would make your home special.
